Lukas G. M. Eylandt
Lukas G. M. Eylandt was born in 1991 in Hamburg and grew up near the German-Danish border in an artist household. Since studying Cinematography at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin, he has worked as a Director of Photography, shaping the visual language of numerous short films, independent productions, documentaries, and commercials that have been screened and awarded at national and international festivals.
In 2020, he co-founded the film production company
von Dorsch, where he served as Managing Director, Creative Lead, and Producer until January 2026.
Beyond his work as a cinematographer, he sees himself first and foremost as a versatile creative mind – something between project developer, consultant, creative director, creative producer, and a walking think tank – who prefers to think and work across disciplines rather than limit himself to a single role.
Beyond his work , Lukas is committed to the cultural and civic life of Schleswig-Holstein through a range of voluntary roles. He serves on the board of Filmkultur Schleswig-Holstein e.V., as deputy chair of the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Spiel und Theater in Schleswig-Holstein, and on the board of the Förderverein Internationale Bildungsstätte Jugendhof Scheersberg. At the municipal level, he is a civil member of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen group and deputy chair of the Ausschuss für Soziales, Kultur und Sport in the municipality of Steinbergkirche.
He also teaches as a freelance lecturer at the Hochschule Flensburg, where he leads courses in film and media arts within Fachbereich 3.
He lives with his family in northern Germany near the Danish border.
